Preparing Professional Seafarers for RYA Commercial Endorsement
The RYA Professional Practices & Responsibilities course is a compulsory online course for the RYA Commercial Endorsement holders. This course is for individuals who are looking to obtain RYA qualifications professionally as skipper or crew. Whether you will be delivering a new 35’ yacht or driving a workboat with lifting and towing gear, it is your duty to care for the crew, passengers, and other water users. Confident Captain’s Professional Practices and Responsibilities course prepares individuals to manage their responsibilities as professional seafarers and keep themselves and others safe.
Receive your PPR Certification Online and On Your Time
Made up of four modules, the PPR course typically takes users 4-8 hours to complete the curriculum. Following these modules, Confident Captain offers a mock assessment to try your knowledge before moving onto the final graded online assessment. The final assessment is split into two sections totaling roughly 2½ hours. Upon successful completion of the final course assessment you will be able to download a certificate to send to the RYA with your commercial endorsement application or renewal form.
All new applicants for a commercially endorsed RYA Certificate of Competence must first pass the PPR course. Anyone renewing a commercially endorsed RYA Certificate of Competence must pass the PPR course prior to their next renewal date.

Making sure your vessel is suitable and legal for the work you are carrying out, your obligations in protecting the environment, appropriate planning and situational awareness.
To enable access to your online course we need to share some of your personal data with the RYA via your user profile in www.ryainteractive.org. This learning management website is hosted and maintained by a third party called Learning Pool, who will not use your personal information for any reason other than enabling your course.
Your name and email address will be entered on www.ryainteractive.org in order to create your user account. On your first access to the site, you will be asked to enter your address and date of birth. You will have access to the site for one year in order to complete your online course. During this period, your personal information will be held on the website by Learning Pool and be available to this training centre and the RYA for the purpose of managing your course.
Instructional support will be provided by this training centre for a period of one year from the date of your course booking.
On completion of your course, your name, email, date of birth and address will be transferred to the RYA’s central database for the purpose of recording details of the course and any certification you gain as a result of it. This information allows the RYA to record your certification, to update any records they may already hold about you or your qualifications and to verify your certificate if required. After one year from the date of your enrollment on the course, your user account will be removed from www.ryainteractive.org.
