The Assistance Vessel Towing Endorsement

Confident Captain’s 4 hour U.S. Coast Guard-approved course allows a USCG Master, Mate, or OUPV license holder to tow disabled vessels commercially. Towing endorsement courses are best when scheduled to coincide with a Captain’s course and exam. You will work with your instructor to schedule the endorsement course. 

Endorsement courses may be held via Zoom. The written endorsement exam can be taken with the regular Captain’s Exam and is included in the endorsement registration fee.

How our Online Courses work:

If the endorsement is to be conducted online, you will be sent a Zoom link to participate in this 4 hour-course prior to taking your exam with us.

Course Pre-Requisites:

In order to participate in the Assistance Towing Endorsement the following criteria must be met:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have a firm understanding of the English language
  • Completed OUPV or Master’s course and examination (or be a current USCG License holder)
